Indragiri Hulu – Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia is always a big day to be celebrated in August. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, PT Tirta Sari Surya organized two main events that are held separately, which are the traditional race and the national flag ceremony.

PT Tirta Sari Surya kicked off August by conducting the traditional race as a symbol of independence spirit on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The race is open to all employees, both in the factory and in the depot. The race categories include table tennis, badminton, volleyball, dominoes, and fishing for prizes in bottles. The family members of employees also participate in the children's race organized by the committee. All races are held on the same day.

There are no distinctions between departments or positions, as everyone is a participant with the same goal: to enjoy each race. As stated by Mr. Dedek Irawan, the event chairman, in his opening remarks, “The purpose of this event is to strengthen solidarity, foster a spirit of cooperation, and add joy amidst the daily hustle and bustle.”

Another hope that emerged from this event is the strengthening of a family-like atmosphere at PT Tirta Sari Surya and the values of mutual cooperation, which are characteristic of the Indonesian people, to remain alive and thrive in the workplace.

The highlight of Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations was marked by a national flag-raising ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The ceremony took place solemnly on the factory site. All management and staff attended with deep respect, uniting in remembrance of the heroes' sacrifices and praying for a brighter future for the nation. The raising of the red and white flag was also conducted in an orderly manner and with a strong sense of nationalism.

In his speech, Mr. Adi Wijaya, as the ceremony's master of ceremonies, expressed his hopes. “May this independence anniversary serve as a new source of energy to work more cohesively, more resiliently, and more innovatively,” Mr. Adi emphasized. Additionally, improving discipline, strengthening communication and innovation, and working with high integrity are essential to keep the spirit of independence alive in the workplace.

The event concluded with the handover of scholarships to the children of employees who have excelled academically, from elementary school to university level, as well as the distribution of prizes to all winners in each category of the traditional race. It is intended that the scholarships provided by Kirana Megatara will be beneficial to all recipients in supporting their educational needs and activities.
